HOME CLEANING SCHEDULE

Every home needs a daily cleaning schedule whether you have a cleaning services or do it yourself. By creating a cleaning schedule, tasks will be completed on time and everyone will know what their duties are.

First you need to make a list of the tasks that need to be completed by you, the domestic work or the kids,

Here is an example of a cleaning schedule and how often everything should get cleaned. But before you create your own schedule be sure to take a look at these spring cleaning tips.

Everyday:
Daily cleaning tasks would be the little things that would only take a few hours to complete everyday, like;

  • Making the Beds
  • Putting Dirty Cloths in the Laundry Basket
  • Packing the Kids Toys away
  • Sweeping and Mopping the Bedrooms
  • Wipe down bathroom surfaces
  • Sanitize the toilet
  • Sweep and Mop Kitchen Floors
  • Tidy up the Living Room
  • Wipe down Kitchen counters and tables
  • Wash the Dishes
  • Do Laundry as Needed
  • Polish furniture

Every Week:
Weekly tasks would be a through cleaning of everything in the home.

  • Scrub bathroom surfaces and floors
  • Change Bedding
  • Iron the laundry (Tuesday / Thursday)
  • Do the washing (Monday / Wednesday)
  • Clean inside the Microwave
  • Clean inside the Fridge
  • Sanitize cutting boards
  • Get rid of expired food

Monthly:
Every month the following should get cleaned, these tasks will take quite a while to complete and some elbow grease will be needed;

  • Wash the exterior and interior windows
  • Vacuum and wash the bed mattresses (take outside for fresh air)
  • Wash pillows and comforters
  • Clean inside the oven
  • Clean inside the freezer
  • Sanitize drains
  • Wash and sanitize the bins
  • Wash and change curtains
  • Clean inside kitchen cabinets
  • Wash interior walls
  • Clean the washing machine and dishwasher

Yearly:
Yearly cleaning task are big jobs that need only be done once a year;

  • Clean out the gutters
  • Clean the fireplace chimney

So now you have a cleaning scheduled that will help you manage your cleaning and keep your home in order.

If you do not have a cleaning lady to help around the house, get your kids to start tidying up their bedrooms and help out with washing dishes. This is great way for them to learn responsibility and make some pocket money.
